Frequently asked questions.
Do I need an industrial VPN router at the site?
No dedicated VPN router is required. A typical setup uses a Windows laptop connected to the machine’s local network via Ethernet and to the internet via Wi-Fi.
What can I use GO2PLC for?
Use GO2PLC to connect to configured PLCs, HMIs and other industrial devices remotely—for example, to update PLC code or investigate a fault using your own engineering software. Compatibility depends on the device, software and network setup.
Is GO2PLC a remote desktop application?
GO2PLC provides connectivity to the configured devices. You use your engineering software on your own computer to work with them, rather than controlling the remote computer’s desktop.
What runs on each computer?
The Customer app runs on the computer at the remote site. The Support app runs on your computer. Both are Windows x64 applications and require administrator permissions.
How do I start a connection?
Start a session in the Customer app to obtain a connection code. Enter that code in the Support app on your computer, then connect to the configured devices with your engineering software.
What are Deployments and Targets?
A Deployment is a GO2PLC setup at a remote site. Its Targets are the configured devices you want to access, such as a PLC or HMI. A Deployment can include devices belonging to more than one machine.
Can my colleagues share access?
Yes. Organization members can share Deployments according to their permissions. During the free pilot, personal accounts and organizations have unlimited Deployments. Existing Target limits apply.
Is the connection encrypted?
Tailscale uses WireGuard to encrypt the connection between the Support and Customer computers. The connection from the Customer computer to the devices uses the site’s local network; GO2PLC does not add encryption to that local connection.
Does GO2PLC record my PLC programs or screen?
GO2PLC does not record PLC/HMI connection payloads, transferred file contents or screen recordings. It stores operational information such as connection status, timing and security events. Files you choose to send to support are handled separately, as described in the Privacy Policy.
How does the free pilot work?
GO2PLC is currently available as a free pilot. Try the product and help us improve it by sharing feedback. No payment or credit card is required. There is no individual countdown. The operator may end the pilot at any time; ending it does not create a paid subscription or authorize a charge. Join the free pilot.
How can I share feedback?
Use the Feedback form to report a bug, suggest an improvement or share general feedback. Pilot participation requires separate consent to contact you for product feedback, which does not cover advertising or marketing.
